The department was established in the year 2008 with an aim of developing human resources in the area of Electronics and Communication Engineering.
The department offers under graduate (UG) and post graduate (PG) courses along with research programmes.
It has experienced and qualified faculty (about 40) in various areas such as communications, VLSI, Signal processing, embedded systems and computer engineering.
There are about 8 laboratories catering to the development of experiments and projects in the aforementioned
The department has state of art computing facilities and software’s to keep the students in pace with the technology.
The department faculty is involved in organization of workshops/conferences for constant up gradation of skills and knowledge.
The faculties have contributed in research publishing about 400 papers in journals/conferences.
The other important features of the department are: department library, individual counseling of students for academic performance,
additional coaching classes for important subjects, theme based mini projects at lower semesters, soft skill development classes,
scientific and student entered teaching-learning process and providing browsing facilities after working hours.

PROGRAMME EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES:
- To prepare students with excellent comprehension of basic sciences, mathematics and engineering subjects facilitating them to gain employment or pursue postgraduate studies with an appreciation for lifelong learning.
- To train students with problem solving capabilities such as analysis and design with adequate practical skills wherein they demonstrate creativity and innovation that would enable them to develop state of the art equipment and technologies of multidisciplinary nature for societal development.
